Destination Indian Wedding Photography | Anantara Riverside Bangkok

When it comes to wedding photography, there's nothing quite like the energy and colour of a Hindu wedding. Add in a destination wedding setting like Bangkok, Thailand, and you’ve got something really special. We had the pleasure of documenting Bhavya and Romy’s multi-day Indian wedding celebration at Anantara Riverside Bangkok, and every moment was filled with personality, tradition, and unforgettable scenes.

Bangkok has become a popular spot for destination weddings, especially for couples with guests coming from all over the world. It’s a central travel hub, easy to reach, and filled with great hospitality. Anantara Riverside Bangkok is a fantastic wedding venue—it’s got river views, spacious lawns, and an excellent team to work with. The resort offers a blend of tropical greenery, luxurious interiors, and that unmistakable Bangkok city vibe. It’s perfect for Indian weddings that need multiple event spaces and great food options

We started things off with a combined Groom’s Pooja and Bridal Mehndi. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming—friends and family catching up, getting mehndi done, and enjoying the start of the celebrations. The evening followed with casual drinks and games, setting the tone for the fun ahead.

Day two kicked off with a riverside Mehndi celebration that felt like one big colourful party. The theme was Moroccan-inspired, and the setup was beautifully done with earthy tones, patterned fabrics, and pops of floral details. Guests showed up in full colour and full energy, enjoying every bit of the live Punjabi folk music. There were spontaneous dance-offs, hugs, and even a cheeky moment where the bride was handing out shots with a sparkle in her eye. It was exactly what a mehendi should be—fun, relaxed, and full of memories in the making.

That evening, the party moved to the rooftop of Avani+ Hotel for the Sangeet, with Bangkok’s skyline lighting up the background. The couple arrived hand in hand, met with cheers and sparklers. The dance floor lit up with performances—from emotional routines by close family to laugh-out-loud moves from friends. Speeches, toasts, and spontaneous dancing kept the energy going long into the night. It was part rooftop party, part family talent show, and all heart.

The wedding day kicked off with a high-energy Haldi where Bhav and Romy were showered with turmeric and flower petals—it was loud, messy, and full of laughter.

Before the wedding festivities took over, the bride received a handwritten letter from the groom before she started getting ready - a heartfelt message that moved her to tears. It was a quiet and emotional moment, a gentle reminder of everything this day was about. The bride got ready privately, with makeup and hair beautifully done by Tina Derkse, while the groom got ready with a room full of close friends, surrounded by jokes, music, and plenty of excitement.

The Baraat took over the hotel grounds with drums, dancing, and non-stop hype.

Just as the Hindu wedding ceremony was about to begin, the rain rolled in, but spirits stayed high and the ceremony went ahead. It all ended with a riverside fireworks show that left everyone buzzing.

The final event was the Reception, and it was beautifully done. Heartfelt speeches, an incredible choreographed first dance by Bhav and Romy, and elegant decor made the night feel warm and intimate. The lighting by The Spotlight Production added depth and drama to the evening, and the room looked amazing from every angle.

A big shoutout to Krish Events, the Bangkok-based wedding planning team. Auntie Krishna and her crew were absolute pros—calm, organised, and full of energy. Every event ran smoothly, and we loved working alongside them. The decor by Riches Event was consistently impressive across all functions, and shoutout to the glam team led by Tina Derkse, mixology by Barology, and the whole crew that made it happen.

We had an incredible time covering this celebration. Bhavya and Romy brought so much fun and love to every part of their wedding. If you're thinking of hosting a destination wedding in Thailand, Bangkok is definitely a city worth considering.
